Ederick Ghana Limited, sole distributors of Whirlpool domestic appliances in Ghana, on Thursday outlined activities marking its 30th anniversary.
Ederick Limited, which started as a tiny shop in one of the alleys in downtown Accra, now has a head office complex at La and five other showroom/retail outlets at Baatsona, Achimota, Kumasi and Takoradi.
The company plans to go to Tamale next year and also Ho.
Gwenda Sam, General Manager of Ederick Limited, told BUSINESS GUIDE in an interview that between now and October 2016, customers would be treated to birthday surprises i.e. discounts on all products purchased, as well as free servicing on appliances.
Ederick is the representative for Whirlpool and also sole agents for Italian brands such as Ocean, Ignis, Glemgas and Candy Hoover and Taurus.
It also distributes some electronic appliances for Sony and Panasonic.
The company specialises in air conditioners, refrigerators, chest freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers, cookers, microwaves, ovens, hoods, extractors, dishwashers, home entertainment systems, LED & LCD TVs, blenders, irons, kettles, toasters, rice cookers.
“We offer free delivery of all purchased appliances within the Accra & Tema metropolis and also in Kumasi. All our appliances come with a 12-month warranty on manufacturer's defects,”Mrs Sam stated.
With a workforce of about 80 trained employees, she added: “Our staff have been highly trained to offer nothing short of the best customer service and the best shopping experience to all our customers and that simply puts Ederick Limited way above all our competitors. Customers must be careful when they are buying in order not to fall prey to substandard brands.”
Currently, Ederick Limited has created its own brand of appliances by name EDK and these include cookers, air conditioners, fridges, chest freezers and water dispensers.
In order to build and sustain customer service and satisfaction, Ederick Limited and its subsidiary, Ederick Services, provide effective and efficient after-sales and repair services, as well as installation of all products that it markets.
