Chief of Bonwire, Nana Bobbie Ansah II has lambasted followers of independent parliamentary candidate, Hon. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi for booing and hooting at Chairman Wontumi during a mini political rally last Monday.

Summoning both factions to his palace on Thursday, 25th April, 2024, the Chief reprimanded them and warned against disrespecting the Ashanti regional Chairman of the NPP in the future.

He dared anyone who calls himself a man to hoot or boo the Ashanti regional Chairman of the elephant party anytime he comes to Bonwire again.

"So you did this to our own Chairman Wontumi? A person we all pride ourselves with? In fact you did not do well," he stated.

Members of the unit committee and assemblymen of Bonwire electoral area were also called to the palace. Each faction was allowed by the Chief to share their side of the story on how the incident happened.

Sounding more enraged as he slammed them at his palace, Nana Bobbie Ansah dared by saying "Chairman Wontumi can come again and hold a rally for Lawyer Kwabena Boateng and I Nana Bobbie Ansah I'm in this community. Come and do your rally and let's see that recalcitrant person who calls himself a man hooting at you again."

According to him, he will be present at Bonwire by 6:00am on the day of the by-election till the results are declared.

He said he is pleased with what the NPP government has done for the community and will therefore not allow any evil-minded person to destroy the favor enjoyed by the community from the present government.

Nana Bobbie Ansah highlighted a constructed modern Kente museum, a district court, ongoing construction of the road network and many others as some of the developmental support Bonwire has enjoyed from the NPP government.

He said he was therefore shuddered to the marrow by what the supporters of Hon. Owusu Aduomi did to Chairman Wontumi. "You have really troubled me. I'm really troubled by what happened. After all the reputation this community has gained, all you can do is to reward Chairman Wontumi with hooting?"

The Chief openly indicated that almost 90 percent of the residents in the community support NPP.

He said that Bonwire has shown great support for NPP adding that the same thing will happen in the April 30 by-election.
