The B.O.T committee has the Municipal Coordinating Director as the chairman and it includes; the Works Engineer, Chairperson of the Finance and Administration sub-committee and some selected Assembly members.

On the Assembly’s quest to enhance participatory governance, it has through the Information Service Department (I.S.D) come out with an electoral area sensitization programme dubbed “ W’asetena mu nsem” where the Assembly at such fora explains very vital issues to the public ranging from health, sanitation, education and power. The public is given the opportunity to ask any question that bordered on their sustenance and survival at the forum.

The General Assembly debated extensively and approved a proposal on bye-laws regulating the operations of Information Centers in the Municipality. This follows public uproar about their operations.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Honorable John Alexander Ackon was formally introduced to the house as the Ashanti Regional Minister in the course of the session.

It is only when the Sub-metros, Zonal and Area Councils at the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies respectively function effectively that good governance can be assured, he added.

As part of his visit to the Municipality, Hon. John Alexander Ackon inspected the ongoing construction works at the Kunka Market and made donations to the S.D.A Hospital, Government Hospital and some selected mosques in the Municipality.
