Residents Of Krofrom Attack Police Over Autopsy Report

Residents of krofrom in Kumasi are currently on war path with the police in a fall out of the alleged police brutality that led to the death of a 27 year old man

The man, Osei Tawiah was accosted on Monday dawn by the police on suspicion of being part of a robbery gang.

The police reportedly assaulted him with the butt of their guns and tasers leading to his death.

But the community members who insisted he was an innocent resident mounted roadblocks and begun burning tyres occasioning the deployment of the security forces to maintain order.

A latest development that has sparked this uproar again is the autopsy report which states that the young man died out of a cardiac condition and natural course contrary to the reports of brutality narrated by the residents.

A police detachment that was sent to the area this morning was compelled to flee the area after their vehicle was badly vandalized by machete and cajole wielding irate youth of the town.

Ultimate News’ Isaac Justice Bediako who is currently on the ground reports that all major roads leading from Krofrom to the Kumasi Airport roundabout has been blocked by the residents amidst the burning of tyres and the chanting of war songs.

He also reports that police have now arrived at the scene firing warning shots under the Swat Commander.

Two persons have also been arrested by the police detachment on the ground.
