The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has refuted claims of implementing a one percent cybersecurity levy on banking transactions, dispelling rumors going viral on social media.
These rumors suggested that the Central Bank intended to impose a one percent cybersecurity levy on all banking transactions in response to rising cybersecurity threats globally and locally.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the BoG clarified that these reports were untrue.
The Central Bank urged the public to disregard such misinformation and assured that no such levy was being introduced.
