Senior Psychologist Professor Joseph Osafo has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work hard and remain focused as it prepares for the upcoming 2024 elections.

His comment follows the just-ended Ejisu by-election, where Kwabena Boateng of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) emerged victorious over an Independent Candidate Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, who is a former NPP Member of Parliament.

The by-election, which was closely watched due to Aduomi's decision to contest as an independent candidate, saw Lawyer Kwame Boateng clinch victory with 27,782 votes, representing 58 percent of the total votes cast.

Aduomi, despite his impressive performance, secured 21,536 votes, equivalent to 43.24 percent.

There have been discussions in the NPP about reconciling with Aduomi to bring him back into the party ahead of the December 7 elections.

However, Aduomi has made it clear that he has no intention of returning to the party.

Offering his perspective on the matter during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, Prof. Osafo advised the NPP to prioritize unity within the party, if Aduomi is not willing to return to the party.

He stated, "Whether he will come or not, the NPP should move on but they must work hard.”
