In light of recent gun attacks, security analyst Adam Bona has sounded the alarm, urging state security agencies to intensify efforts to protect citizens, particularly as Ghana approaches its December elections.

Mr. Bona emphasized the urgency for law enforcement to address the escalating incidents of gun violence, referring to the recent attacks in Kasoa and Trasacco as reminders of the pressing need for enhanced security measures.

In an interview on NEAT FM’s ‘Ghana Montie’ show, he stated,“Things are already hard in Ghana and if we are not safe as well, then it's a worry to all."

Bona's comments follow the tragic incident where two police officers were fatally shot in Trasacco on the evening of Thursday, May 2, 2024.

The Ghana Police Service issued a statement on Thursday to confirm the incident.

The statement said, “The Ghana Police Service is on a manhunt for two gunmen who fatally shot two off-duty police officers sitting in front of their private residence at Block Factory, East Trasacco, Accra, today, Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, at about 6:00 pm.”
