Charles Owusu has condemned the recent shooting incident in Kasoa which resulted in the death of a soldier due to land dispute.

The event unfolded when a soldier, upon receiving information about encroachment on his land, gathered few colleague soldiers and proceeded to the disputed site.

However, they were met with resistance from a chief Benlord Ababio, who allegedly fired gunshot that claimed the life of one of the soldiers.

The incident, which occurred on the evening of Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Millenium City in Kasoa, took a serious turn as the soldier succumbed to his injuries after he was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa.

Commenting on the matter during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Charles Owusu slams the police officers for failure to act on the matter.

Mr. Owusu recounted how the perpetrator, brandishing a firearm, openly threatened the soldier's life in the presence of the police, yet no action was taken to apprehend him or prevent the tragic outcome.

In his remarks, the former Head of the Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission did not mince words, accusing some police officers of colluding with criminals, including land guards to commit crimes across the country.

"Some of these Policemen and women connive with these criminals in this country," he stated.
