A former parliamentary aspirant for the Asante Akim South Constituency, Eric Amofa, has expressed skepticism about the chances of independent candidate Owusu Aduomi in the upcoming by-election, suggesting that securing even 5 percent of the total votes would be a challenge.

Amofa urged supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to remain steadfast, dismissing what he sees as unfounded tensions caused by Aduomi.

"The election is not as tough as projected. Aduomi is no match for the NPP. I'll be surprised if he secures 5 percent of the total votes; he has no grounds," Amofa asserted.

Having observed the political landscape in areas like Onwe, Kwamo, and Ejisu, Amofa is confident that the NPP candidate is poised for a landslide victory.

He criticized Aduomi's candidacy as an act of ingratitude, greed, and selfishness, questioning why someone who served within the NPP for 12 years would now oppose the party.

Amofa reassured that the election is not a cause for concern, emphasizing that as a staunch party member, he views Aduomi as no match in the political arena.

President Akufo Addo, addressing constituents, echoed the sentiment, urging voters to support an NPP candidate to ensure continuous development in the constituency, dismissing the prospect of an independent candidate.
