Anambra State Police Commissioner, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, expressed gratitude and satisfaction as he prepared to retire from the force on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, without any blemish on his reputation.

During a pull-out parade held in his honor at Awka, the Anambra State capital, Adeoye reflected on his tenure, spanning over three decades, during which he served under seven different police commissioners since his first posting to the State in 1991.

Adeoye recounted his experiences as a police officer, including engagements with militants, insurgents, and criminal elements both within Nigeria and during peacekeeping operations in Liberia and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

He commended the people of Anambra State for their warmth, hospitality, and industriousness, vowing never to speak ill of the State or its people, whom he described as hardworking and law-abiding citizens engaged in legitimate businesses.

Dedicating his achievements to the gallant officers under his command and the collaborative efforts of sister security agencies, Adeoye acknowledged the exposure, experience, and knowledge gained through various training courses undertaken both domestically and internationally.

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, lauded Adeoye's contributions in restoring peace and order to the State during challenging times. He praised the commissioner's dedication and leadership style, which aided in repositioning Anambra State and restoring normalcy.

In recognition of his service, a street in Anambra State has been named after Adeoye, symbolizing his status as a cherished member of the community.

HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweke, the Traditional Ruler of Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, also commended Adeoye for his commitment to duty and integrity, highlighting his refusal to accept gratification as a testament to his exemplary leadership.
