The Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EPCG) Ho East Presbytery Great Choir, also known as Hadzihaga, concluded its biannual Presbytery rally at Agortime Kpetoe on Sunday, marking the celebration of its 100th anniversary this year.

Established in 1919 at the church's headquarters in Ho Kpodzi, Hadzihaga is recognized as the earliest and oldest choral organization in the EPCG. Originating with just twelve members, it has since expanded throughout the church, now boasting a membership of thousands.

The culmination of the third biannual Ho East Presbytery Hadzihaga rally, held from April 19th to 21st, 2024, focused on the theme "Care for God's creation, The Mission of the church, and the role of Hadzihaga."

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Franklin Kwasi Banahene, the president of Ho East Presbytery Hadzihaga, emphasized the significance of commemorating the group's accomplishments, paying tribute to its founding fathers, and celebrating the importance of singing in the Christian church.

While the Presbytery rally was initially slated for October, it was postponed to accommodate the historical anniversary and church event, planned by the national body to be hosted by the Ho East Presbytery Hadzihaga in October.

The recently concluded rally at Kpetoe aimed to raise funds for the host Presbytery and the national body, while inspiring the participation of the 52 choirs in the Presbytery for the upcoming 100th-anniversary celebration.

Rev. W. K. Klutse, the Hadzihaga facilitator, urged participants and Christians to refrain from using the church for mere celebration, emphasizing the importance of repentance and embracing the true essence of Christianity. He underscored that Christianity offers more benefits from Christ's death than disadvantages.
