Bernard Allotey Jacobs, former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has voiced criticism against District Chief Executives (DCEs) and Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs) who claim credit for projects completed during former President Mahama's tenure, including in the performance tracker launched by the current government.

During an appearance on Peace FM’s 'Kokrokoo' morning show, Allotey Jacobs expressed his disapproval, stating that it is unnecessary to attribute projects from the previous administration to the current government's achievements.

He argued that any official who includes projects from the previous government in the tracker is being dishonest and should face dismissal from their position.

"While the government deserves commendation for the performance tracker, any DCE or MCE who incorporates projects initiated by the previous government should be relieved of their duties. They are not being truthful," he emphasized.

Allotey Jacobs continued, "The previous government presented the green book, and the NPP government has introduced the Performance tracker. No one should find fault with the tracker."

He stressed the importance of transparency, suggesting that if a project was initiated during a previous administration and completed under the current one, officials should acknowledge this by specifying the start and end dates of the project.

According to Allotey Jacobs, the performance tracker primarily targets the educated elite, who then disseminate the information to the grassroots level.

"This is targeted at the educated elite. The average person on the street chanting political slogans is not interested in reading the content of the performance tracker. It is the educated ones who will influence the grassroots," he concluded.
