The mass departure of doctors, nurses and teachers from Ghana is being exacerbated by the "unserious" and "cancerous incompetent" government of Nana Akufo-Addo, according to Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a Facebook post on Thursday, April 18, he blamed the increased exodus on the "toxic pair of frustration" among healthcare professionals with the current administration's mismanagement.

He wrote that experienced health workers feel "overwhelmed and frustrated with the mismanagement of the economy and the health sector," while new graduates are similarly frustrated.

Omane Boamah cited this "toxic pair of frustration" as fueling "the mass exodus of health workers."

The NDC director criticized the government for wasting "millions of dollars meant to address the COVID-19 pandemic" and on the "fraudulent National Cathedral pit-project."

Omane Boamah called on the "Akufo-Addo Bawumia-led Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service to get serious and wake up from the cancerous incompetence."

On Tuesday, some unemployed graduate midwives and nurses took to the streets amidst the rains to register their frustrations to the relevant authorities.
