[caption id="attachment_272543" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Samuel Osie Kuffuor has caused some ripples with his comments on Ghana football[/caption] A leading member of the ruling NDC party Yaw Boateng Gyan has rubbished Sammy Kuffuor's call for Kwesi Nyantakyi to step down as the Ghana FA boss insisting the astute lawyer is best man to steer the affairs of the country's football. Boateng-Gyan, who is also the board chairman Tano Bofoakwa Football Club, hit back at the former Bayern Munich star asking him to produce the suitable candidate to replace the CAF Executive Committee member.Black Stars management committee member has been forced to respond as there are some unseen hands who are bent on taking advantage of Ghana's poor showing at the World Cup to remove the leader of Ghana football.Kuffuor even suggested that government should forcibly remove Nyantakyi and suffer a two-year FIFA ban which seems to have infuriated the National Organiser of the NDC party.Gyan has challenged Kuffuor present his suitable candidate for the post insisting Nyantakyi is the man to continue to lead the country's game. “I think the ideal thing to ask Sammy Kuffour is who is best placed to replace Kwesi Nyantakyi,” he told Metro FM. “Is he [Kuffour] the best person to replace him?A well-oiled media campaign calculated to damage Nyantakyi is well underway with Ghana's poor showing at the World Cup as its trump card - brushing aside the successes chalked by Ghana under his leadership.Boateng Gyan says Ghana's poor showing at the tournament must not wholly be blamed on Nyantakyi insisting that the real causes of problems at the tournament in Brazil must be found rather than the singling out of one person for blame.“Kwesi Nyantakyi has done very well to lead Ghana football over the past ten years where we have been to three consecutive World Cups – this is unprecedented," Gyan said.“The only thing is that when we went for the last World Cup, things didn't go well and all the blame is being heaped on Kwesi Nyantakyi.“Instead for us to find out the real problems that led to our disappointing World Cup campaign, we go around apportioning blame."Gyan says the key factor in Ghana's poor showing is the late arrival of the World Cup money which must not be blamed on Nyantakyi who masterminded the country's first appearance at the global tournament in 2006.
