It was the wish of the organisers to present one of the first Miss Ghana beauty queens,Star Annan Hammond, who was a national beauty queen in the 50s, but who had been called by her Creator and interred a few days before the ceremony.

The Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City, Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey who launched “LG Miss Ghana 2005” appealed to companies in the country to support events that promote tourism.

“I will take this opportunity to thank all sponsors and donors who support the pageant, especially LG,for taking up the mantle of the main sponsor this year. I also appeal to other companies to follow suit”,the Minister said.

He pledged government's support and the “blessing of my ministry” for the pageant and charged Sparrow Productions to come out with a “clean” and exciting show.
