CAF has revealed the draw procedure for next year's Africa U17 Championship as the draw will be held today in Cairo with Ghana not included among the top seeds.

The Black Starlets who have won the tournament twice have not been included among the top seeds with hosts Madagascar and defending champions Mali named as the top seeds.

DRAW PROCEDURE
Qualified teams:
Angola, Cameroon, Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali & Niger

Madagascar, the host association and Mali the title holder of the last edition be seeded teams

of level I. Madagascar will be A1 Mali will be B1.
Based on the results of the last edition (final tournament and qualifiers) the ranking will be as

follows:
Level 2: Guinea and Niger
Level 3: Cameroon and Angola
Level 4: Ghana and Congo
The first part of the draw will be to determine the positioning of the teams of Level 2 Guinea

and Niger.
Pot 1 Containing the teams of Guinea and Niger and the first team to be drawn will

automatically be in group A and the second goes to group B and pot 2 containing the Position

of Group A (A2-A3-A4) ,pot 3 Containing the Position of Group B (B2 -B3 B4).

The second part of the draw will be to determine the positioning of the teams of Level 3

Cameroon and Angola.
Pot 1 Containing the teams of Cameroon and Angola and the first team to be drawn will

automatically be in group A and the second goes to group B and pot 2 containing the

remaining two Positions of Group A , pot 3 Containing the remaining two Positions of Group B.

The last part of the draw will be to determine the positioning of the teams of Level 4 Ghana

and Congo.
Pot 1 Containing the teams of Ghana and Congo and the first team to be drawn will

automatically be in group A and the second goes to group B and pot 2 containing the last

remaining Position of Group A, pot 3 Containing the last remaining Position of Group B.

Ghana will discover their opponents for the group stage of next year's Africa U17 Championship today when the draw is held in Cairo.

The Black Starlets are among the eight teams fighting to win the crown of the tournament to be held in Madagascar.

Angola, Cameroon, Congo, Guinea, Mali and Niger are the other six teams who will be participating in the 11th edition of the championship.

The teams will discover their opponent later today as the draw is held at the headquarters of CAF later in the afternoon.

Ghana secured their place at the competition after eliminating tough Ivory Coast last month following a 3-1 aggregate victory.

The Black Starlets are seeking their third continental title after winning the competition in 1993 and 1999.

They were unable to participate in the last edition of the competition as they were disqualified over a confusion on the status of an MRI scan of as player.
