Nii Komiete Doku, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has called for an end to the “war” or “tension” between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS).

Speaking on Happy FM Sports Programme on Wednesday afternoon, he said if the issue or misunderstanding between the two is not solved, Ghana’s participation in the AFCON 2016 and FIFA World Cup 2018 would be in jeopardy and if the worse happens, Ghanaians should forget about the African Cup in 2017and world Cup in 2018.

In a passionate appealed to the Minister of Youth & Sports, Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and the GFA President, Kwesi Nyantekyi, he said things are getting bad and worse as the days go by with no solution to the problems.

Eddie Doku as he is also known as well as the Referees Committee Chairman of the GFA, he said there is no problem that can never be solved and called for an amicable solution to take Ghana Football to the next level, which is winning the African Cup at Gabon 2017 and qualifying to the fourth World Cup in a row in Russia.

According to Doku, if there is no peace in our football or sports, where can we get peace to make Ghana peaceful, which everybody wants.

He stressed that Ghana must qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup at all cost to boast the recent election and elevation of Kwesi Nyantekyi on to the FIFA Executive Council.

Meanwhile, the President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Kwabena Yeboah has led some executives of the august and respected Association to meet the GFA President and Minister of Youth & Sports, but the outcome is not yet known.

Some sports journalists and sports lovers in Ghana are also divided on the issue and taken sides.
