A Ranking Member of the Youth and Sports Committee of Parliament, Kobena Mensah Woyome has disclosed plans to hold a public inquiry into the poor performance of Black Stars during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ghana suffered another group phase elimination having finished at the bottom of Group B with just two points under the then-head coach, Chris Hughton.
The Black Stars opened their campaign with a defeat against Cape Verde before drawing 2-2 with Egypt and Mozambique respectively.
However, Mensah Woyome speaking in an interview confirmed that there would be a public hearing on what led to the poor performance of the team.
"I can confirm that there will be a public inquiry into the Black Stars' performance at AFCON 2023," he in an interview with Akoma FM.
Following the team's lacklustre display, Chris Hughton, who was on a 21-month deal was shown the exit.
Otto Addo, who has been named as the successor of the former Premier League manager on a 34-month deal has already overseen two matches against Nigeria and Uganda, resulting in a defeat and a draw respectively.
The Black Stars will hope to return to winning ways when they face Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on June 3 and 10 respectively.
