Black Queens coach, Nora Hauptle, has expressed her unwavering belief in her resilience to tackle the demanding role of leading Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team.

Taking the helm of a Black Queens squad that had faced setbacks, failing to qualify for both the 2022 Women’s AFCON and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Hauptle initiated a remarkable turnaround. Guiding the team, they secured 10 consecutive victories, culminating in clinching a spot in Morocco after a hard-fought 3-2 aggregate triumph over Namibia.

Despite the formidable obstacles ahead, Hauptle remained steadfast in her confidence to overcome them. Speaking with BBC Africa, the Swiss coach affirmed her conviction, stating, "I knew when I jumped in there that I would have the resilience to survive [and] I would learn a lot about myself."

Reflecting on her journey, Hauptle emphasized the personal growth she experienced, noting, "For me, the interest behind it maybe sounds ridiculous for others but I learned the most in this whole journey about myself."

Hauptle stands on the brink of another significant achievement, as she aims to guide the Black Queens to their first-ever Olympic Games qualification.

In the upcoming 2024 Women’s AFCON in Morocco, Hauptle will once again lead the team, determined to build on their recent successes.
