British Council Ghana has today announced Bernard Avle of Citi Fm and Claudia Lumor of Glitz Africa as their Brand Ambassadors for the maiden edition of the Alumni Awards 2017.

The global Alumni Awards recognize and honor the outstanding achievements made by UK alumni, and celebrate the impact and value of a UK education.

Ghana is one of 14 locations honoured to be hosting the Alumni Awards 2017: Ghana, Egypt, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey and the USA. The high-profile and prestigious ceremonies that have been held to celebrate the awards, have reached 110 million people through global media coverage, and have the support of UK universities, VIPs and royalty: the Duke of Cambridge presented the Awards in China in 2015.

Bernard is a seasoned broadcast journalist and the Director of News Programming at CITI 97.3 FM and an alumnus of Warwick Business School. Claudia is an alumna of University of Westminster. She is the founder of Glitz Africa, a Pan-African lifestyle and Fashion brand that embraces Africa's biggest successes, celebrities, current trends, celebrity lifestyle, fashion, entertainment, and wellness of the new African global citizen.

Applications for the awards are open until end of October 2016 and the results will be announced at a prestigious award ceremony held at the British Council in Accra on Saturday 11 February 2017.
