The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate received a rounding welcome when he took his campaign tour in the Volta region to the Kpando constituency.

Hundreds of residents lined up the streets of Kpando chanting "we want change" to welcome Nana Akufo-Addo into the constituency on Monday.

The residents amid singing and dancing followed Nana Akufo-Addo as he waved them from the sunroof of his vehicle and made his way to the Paramount Chief's palace to pay a courtesy call on him.

The three-time presidential hopeful who seeks to win over people in the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) stronghold to the NPP was overwhelmed with the turn up of the people.

Addressing a rally, Nana Akufo-Addo commended the residents for coming out in their numbers to listen to his message of change and pleaded with them to have faith in him and vote him into the office of the President on December 7.

He outlined "the reviving of the National Health Insurance Scheme, restoration of teacher and nursing trainees allowances, free SHS among other social interventions the NPP would implement to salvage Ghanaians from the current hardship."

Nana Akufo-Addo also advised the electorates to be an ambassador of the change that they seek.

Speaking to Joy News' Fred Quame Asare on the sideline of the rally, some residents expressed disgust at the governing National Democratic Party saying their constituency has received virtually nothing within its eight in power.

The added that "it is time for the NDC to go, they have spent eight years in office and did nothing for us, look at our roads, very bad, surrounding communities are still feeding on the unwholesome water."

"As if that is not enough, they have now resorted to deceiving the Ghanaian citizenry. The MP, Dela Sowa claims she has constructed a bridge on the Kpando-Agbenoxoe road which is a complete lie. We are tired of the NDC and we need change. NDC must go!" they stressed.

Nana Addo rounded up the first day of his tour in the Biakoye constituency as he received a similar welcome at Nkonya and Abotoasi.
