Trade Invest Africa (TIA), an initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), in collaboration with Gauteng Growth Development Agency (GGDA) will host an information and awareness seminar in facilitating trade and investment for the Gauteng’s business community at the Gauteng Investment Centre in Sandton on Friday, 21 October 2016. The session marks the beginning of TIA’s national awareness roadshow on its support services which will be rolled out throughout the country.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of TIA, Ms Lerato Mataboge the roadshow is in support of South Africa’s objectives of having the export growth of 6% year on year by 2030.

Mataboge adds that the roadshow is aimed at informing the business community about the support services offered by TIA in facilitating trade and investment with the rest of Africa.

“This contributes to our mandate of increasing South Africa’s exports of value-added goods, and services to the rest of Africa as well as enhancing intra-Africa trade and investments,” she says.

Mataboge highlights that with an intention to see more South African companies exporting value-added goods to the rest of Africa as well as seeing more South African companies investing in the rest of Africa, the seminar will also raise awareness about the numerous support measures that both GGDA and TIA can offer to business in order to enhance, business development, production capacity and access to international markets, particularly in Africa.

“The seminar is anticipated to motivate the Gauteng business community around the huge economic frontier which is the African continent,” she adds.
