Don't Forget Your Alma Matter - Old Tamascans Told

The School Prefect known for Tamale Senior High School (Tamasco), Duut Mahamud has appealed to old students of the school and other schools to extend their helping hands to their alma matter.

This according to him said will argument the efforts by government to improve quality education in the country.

He said schools in the country still face lots of challenges therefore the need for people in position today to remember schools they passed through before becoming who they are now.

Mr. Duut made the call when delivering his speech at the 65th anniversary and 22 prize giving day at the school.

He noted lack of adequate computers and other ICT equipment in their IT laboratory among others as challenges hindering academic performance in the school.

He also mention inadequate sanitation facilities such as toilets, bathrooms, dust bins that makes live uneasy for them as students.

The headmaster of the school, Mr. Shaibu Wilberforce Adam used the opportunity to thank the Old Tamascans Association or OLTA for their immense contribution towards the development of the school but appealed for more.

He also thanked the running of the main opposition party or NPP and old boy of the school, Dr. Mahamud Bawumiya who supported the school financially and also donating ambulance to the school.

Mr. Wilberforce also seized the opportunity to his appreciation to the head of Engineers and Planners, Ibrahim Mahama, brother to the President of the Republic of Ghana for his efforts to provide the school with 550 single bedroom capacity dormitory first ever in the country.

The event which was under the theme, " Sixty five years of Tamasco: A legacy of education excellence built on the foundation of Fortiter, Fideliter, Feliciter saw the presents of leadership of government, politicians, academicians, students, chiefs, religious leaders, the clergy, the media among others.
