President Akufo-Addo has cautioned against the return of former President John Mahama to office in the upcoming December 7, 2024, general elections, suggesting it would jeopardize his administration's achievements.

During a rally in Dobro following a visit to Blue Skies Limited, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of Ghanaians participating in the Electoral Commission's ongoing limited registration exercise.

Addressing the crowd, the president urged eligible individuals who have not yet registered to do so, highlighting the significance of voting as a fundamental right and power.

Furthermore, President Akufo-Addo expressed concerns about potential regression if his predecessor were to assume office again, stating, "He will destroy whatever we have done when he comes."

He reiterated his stance against handing over power to someone he perceives as critical of his administration's accomplishments. Instead, the president advocated for his deputy, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the rightful successor, citing their collaborative efforts over the past seven and a half years.

He expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia's ability to continue the work initiated during his tenure, urging voters to support him in the upcoming elections.

"I am pleading with you to vote for the person I have worked with for the past seven and half years. I have faith in him and I know that he will come and continue the work I have begun as Dr. Mahamamudu Bawumia.”
