A quick note on the passing away of Reverend Clinton

A quick note on the passing away of Reverend Clinton
07 MAY 2024 LISTEN

Dear critical-reader, we were shocked to learn earlier today that our part of the Gomoa Budumburam SHC Estate, has just lost one of our neighbours - the Liberian refugee, Reverend Clinton. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Reverend Clinton was a remarkable and hardworking lady, who never missed a day being there for those who depended on her expertise for their well being. Rain or shine she went to work.

As it happens, Reverend Clinton's passing, has made one discover just how differently Liberians react to sudden deaths:

Unlike what pertains across the entire territorial landmass of our bankrupted Republic, there has not been any of the loud wailing and copious shedding of crocodile tears that Ghanaians (a global superpower in hypocrisy when reacting to sudden deaths, lol), from any of those Liberians who have come to commiserate with Reverend Clinton's daughter, Esther, and her grandchild (who is Esther's offspring).

They have all focused on remembering what they treasured most about Reverend Clinton, and recounting anecdotal stories of their personal encounters with her while alive, one after the other, in the most dignified of fashions. That is as it should be, should it not, dear critical-reader?

Whatever be the case, in the end, in the final analysis, we shall all also embark on the selfsame journey that Reverend Clinton has just embarked on - transitioning to the other plane, dear critical-reader. Our thoughts and prayers are with all Reverend Clinton's closest friends, and her own children, here, and abroad. May her gentle and kind soul find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord God Almighty. Hmmm, life...
