Baba Sadiq, the parliamentary candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Okaikwei Central constituency has issued a stern warning to his rival and incumbent Member of Parliament, Patrick Yaw Boamah over the alleged use of "vigilante boys" to intimidate constituents ahead of the 2024 general elections.

In a post on X on Tuesday, May 7, the 3Music Network CEO accused the lawmaker of using his "vigilante boys" from the #WoundedLions group to disrupt voter registration efforts.

"The era of using your vigilante boys #WoundedLions to intimidate peaceful constituents is over," Baba Sadiq wrote.

He further alleged that Yaw Boamah brought in additional reinforcements from the northern regional capital Tamale and housed them in Tesano Cottage to bolster his vigilante ranks.

"If you don’t evacuate the Tamale boys you brought and placed in Tesano cottage to-re-inforce your vigilante group who attempted to disrupt the process today but for the timely resistance of our boys, we will help you evacuate them," the NDC candidate cautioned.

Baba Sadiq said while he reports any further incidents to the police, the NPP candidate should “refrain from these antics so we all have peaceful registrations & elections in Okaikwei Central."
