The Germany Branch of the New Patriotic Party has hosted the first-ever international Nasara conference since the inception of the Nasara wing of the party.

Hosted in the German city of Hamburg on 27th April 2024, the event saw scores of party bigwigs, supporters, and sympathisers from all over the world attending the event dubbed "building bridges; Nasara empowerment for inclusive progress".

Leaders of the party took turns to deliver speeches to whip up the commitment of attendees towards the party's avowed desire to break the eight in the December 2024 elections.

In his opening and welcoming remarks, the Chairman of the Germany Branch ranch, a Cardiologist, Dr. Felix Yamoah underscored the importance of the gathering and called on all present to "commit to the bigger agenda of breaking the eight". He recalled the German branch's contributions to the activities of the NPP and reemphasized the commitment of the Branch to the Party ahead of the 2024 elections.

The Vice President and the party's flagbearer, H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia spoke to the gathering via zoom. Recounting the history of Nasara, he touted his historic election as the culmination of the many years of Nasara growth. He touched on the establishment of the Zongo development fund which he said has brought development to the Zongos, including the building of school blocks, healthcare facilities, ICT centres, drainage systems, amongst others.

Explaining the focus of the NPP government in Zongo communities, the flagbearer said "ladies and gentlemen, our focus in the Zongo communities, just as nationally, has been on education..."

He recalled the sponsorship of forty students from the Zongos to Cuba to study medicine. "We have done far better in the Zongo communities than the NDC, and they (NDC) come nowhere near our record," Dr. Bawumia boasted.

In an impassioned speech, the national Nasara coordinator, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Futa, called on members of the Muslim and Zongo community to rally behind the vice president and campaign for him to become the next President of Ghana.

"The Christians have done us (Muslims) a favour by not allowing religion to inform their decision and thereby voting Dr. Bawumia to become the flagbearer of our party", he noted.

As a rallying call to what he termed a "duty to the country", he called on the Muslim community to "team up with the Christian community in supporting the course of Dr. Bawumia."

The grateful Nasara coordinator thanked the Christian community and called for unity.

Speaking to reporters after the event, the Nasara coordinator of the Germany Branch, Mr. Awal, showed appreciation to attendees and expressed his happiness.

"The program was highly successful, all the work we put in to organise the event has yielded positive outcomes", he said.
