Ghana’s Ministry of Youth and Sports of has congratulated its minister Mustapha Ussif, on receiving the prestigious award of Best African Sports Minister.

The award, presented at the Africa Sports & Tourism Awards in Nigeria, recognizes Mustapha Ussif's "exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment, and remarkable contributions to the advancement of the Youth and Sports sectors within Ghana and across the African continent," according to the Ministry's statement.

Under the minister’s "visionary guidance, Ghana has emerged as a shining example of sporting excellence, achieving significant milestones such as the successful hosting and organisation of the 13th African Games," the statement dated April 29, noted.

The Ministry praised how these endeavors "showcased our nation's athletic prowess and positioned Accra as the revered African City of Sports."

It also commended the "unwavering dedication and tireless efforts" of Mustapha Ussif which have "not only enhanced Ghana's sporting landscape but also reinforced the profound impact of sports as a catalyst for socio-economic development."

The Ministry expressed "heartfelt appreciation" and "deep gratitude" for Minister Ussif's commitment in this regard.
