National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia is unhappy some party members are already fighting over positions in government.

According to him, he has become aware that although the NDC is not yet in power, some party members have selected what position they will occupy.

Addressing party followers at UPSA on Wednesday when the NDC outdoored its running mate Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, Asiedu Nketia warned party members to stop fighting over positions.

He stressed that what is important is for all party followers to work towards victory in the 2024 general election to take power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“Some people within the party are fighting over who will be what in the next government. Some party members are not just fighting about the positions they will occupy; they are telling all others that they will be the key makers and they will be making the appointments. If we are not careful, this will dampen the enthusiasm and the spirit of our followers,” Johnson Asiedu Nketia warned.

The NDC National Chairman continued, “I want to assure everyone that we are not there yet. Don’t be fighting about positions and don’t be struggling about who will make appointments. Let us all go for the hunting first, and when we kill the game, we will now argue about how to share the meat.”

Johnson Asiedu Nketia is confident that with hard work, the NDC will win power from the NPP in the 2024 general election.
