Volta Citizens bemoans the state of Ho Denu Aflao road charges leaders to take action

A group of concern citizens of Volta from the regional capital and the residents along the Ho- Denu Aflao road has raised a serious concern targeted at the doors of the stakeholders in the realms of affairs in the Volta region to wake up to calls and take a prompt action.

The concern citizens who bemoaned the state of the major international and business road that links the volta regional capital Ho to the neighboring country Togo calling on the Regional Minister Hon. Archibald Yao Letsa to act for action to be seen on the deplorable road to ease commuting.

In a statement the concern citizens of Volta chastises the inability of Members of Parliament, MMDCEs and the Regional Minister and the government to fix the said road for over years calling on them to take action within one month or witness a regional demonstration.

The group further send same stern message to the Volta MPs Caucus in parliament, Municipal and District Executives, Chiefs and the regional Highway Authority asking the role their position and concern so far in the reconstruction or reshaping the current state of he road to the satisfaction of the residents, and the vehicles using the road

The group also highlights the long-standing neglect of the road, transforming it into a hazardous thoroughfare and a hub for criminal activities detrimental to lives and properties, they emphasized the vitality of the Ho - Denu Aflao road in regards to the international business.

The statement which sort to condemned political promises and fails to the region lamented on the suffering masses especially the drivers who runs at lost in their quest to make living alluded the level of "I don't care" attitude by the key stakeholders forgetting the chunk of revenue that the country generates from economic activities the resident undertake in their toils

The Concerned Citizens in the same release draw the attention of the authorities to other important roads within the region, essential in facilitating economic activities needed same attention to ameliorate the plights of the people include the Ho Kpenoe-Hordzo Road, the Sokode Gbogame-Akrofu Bame-Kpeve and Awudome Anyirawase road, and the Sokode Etoe, UHAS-Tritrinu bypass connecting to the Ho-Denu road, believing that working on those roads by the government will foster regional development and curb the perceived smuggling especially in the border communities

Appealing for prompt attention to the listed roads the concern citizens stated that over Twenty Thousand residents from the region including the drivers are on standby to hold a regional demonstration against the Regional Minister and the government including the members of parliament and the respective Municipal and District Assemblies whose Constituencies the all important road has pass
