A private legal practitioner, Nana Obiri Boahen of ‘Nso Nyame Ye’ Chambers in Kumasi, Sunyani and Accra-based has attacked the behavior of Queen mother of the Denkyira Traditional Council, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III in a pendency chieftaincy suit before a High Court in Cape Coast.

Livid Nana Obiri Boahen on behalf of the embattled Chief of Diaso doubling as Adontenhene of Denkyira Traditional Area, Nana Yitta Amoako II and the Obaapanin Agnes Konadu, the head of Asona Asenkye Royal Family of Diaso Palace took a swipe at the Denkyirahemaa for 'promoting' chieftaincy dispute in the area.

According to the outspoken lawyer, the conduct of the Denkyira queen mother and other kingmakers is ‘repugnant, contemptuous, disrespectful’ to the administration of justice.

A writ filed by plaintiffs; Nana Yitta Amoako II and Obaapanin Agnes Konadu of Diaso Asenkye Royal Family through their lawyer, Nana Obiri Boahen, one Kwame Baah is parading himself as Diaso Chief and Adontenhene of Denkyira Traditional Council at the time when there is a substantive Chief of Diaso in the person of Nana Yitta Amoako II.

Respondents including the Denkyira Hemaa Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III are also holding out and recognizing Kwame Baah as Chief of Diaso and Adontehene contrary to customs and traditions.

Respondents are, therefore, 'promoting, facilitating, assisting and urging the first respondents Kwame Baah to carry on and represents himself as Chief of Diaso notwithstanding the pendency of the Denkyira Traditional Council and also substantive chieftaincy dispute/suit in the area'

They are also 'engaging in an act with the view of undermining the administration of justice when substantive suit is sub-judice'.

Plaintiffs lawyer claimsq other five Respondents aiding and abetting Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III to disrespect the Court are: Kwame Baah, one Albert Kodua aka Yaw Tawia, Nana Akomea Nkrakwa III, Denkyira Akyeamehene , Jukwaa, Opanin Yaw Mireku, Diaso, and the Research Committee, Central Region House of Chiefs.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen explains defendants' conduct are calculated attempt to undermine the efficacy and integrity of the judicial system thereby exposing the administration of justice to public ridicule and contempt of court.

Nana Obiri Boahen on behalf of his clients concluded that 'other grounds shall be canvassed later as upon the grounds stated in the companying of affidavit'.
