APR 18, 2024 LISTEN

Based on feedback from hundreds of thousands of international passengers across over 100 countries, Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha, Qatar was named the best airport in the world for 2024.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards determine airport rankings each year after conducting a large-scale global survey of passenger experiences over a six-month period.

More than 500 airports worldwide were included in the survey from August 2023 to March 2024.

Passengers completed an online questionnaire about their recent airport experiences while traveling.

Their responses on facilities, services, and overall satisfaction were then screened and analyzed to determine the top rankings.

HIA received high praise from passengers who felt it best met their needs and expectations of an airport.

Travellers particularly appreciated the state-of-the-art facilities, smooth operations, and quality of customer service from check-in through boarding.

The airport provided a pleasant, stress-free experience according to those surveyed.

Singapore's Changi Airport, the 2023 world best airport, came in second place, retaining its position as one of the world's premier airport hubs.

Passengers appreciated its vast array of amenities, dining and entertainment options, and overall comfort.

Seoul Incheon Airport in South Korea ranked third, recognized for its efficient flight connections, modern design, and pleasant atmosphere.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are uniquely determined by aggregating passenger ratings and feedback.

No airports pay any fees to participate in the survey, says the organizing entity.

The results provide a true measure of customer satisfaction and highlight facilities that best accommodate global travellers from check-in to departure.
