The National Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha has issued a stern warning to former NPP member Hopeson Adorye to desist from making attacks against Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a post via X addressed to Mr. Adorye on Tuesday, March 26, Mr. Mustapha wrote "Take Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia out of your mouth. He will not be your chewing stick. No. He will not."

He further threatened that "if you attack our Flagbearer again", he will "put [their] brotherhood aside and we will do it the young patriots way".

Mr. Mustapha warned that the NPP will retaliate against Mr. Adorye's Movement for Change party and its presidential candidate Alan Kyeremateng if the attacks continue.

The Youth Organizer's warning come after Mr. Adorye publicly criticized Dr. Bawumia over the freefall of the Ghana cedi, which is currently selling over 13 cedis to the US dollar.

In his criticism, Mr. Adorye noted that Dr. Bawumia organized seminars on the economy while in opposition but has not been able to address the currency crisis now in his role as Vice President.
