Mona Gucci, a TV presenter and self-proclaimed lawyer, has shed light on the dissolution of her friendship with social media influencer Moesha Buduong.
According to Mona, there was a disagreement over her criticism of "slay queens."
During an interview on TV3's Ladies Circle, Mona Gucci recounted how her outspoken nature as a critic and presenter often puts her at odds with friends, particularly when she takes on issues that do not favour them.
She expressed the challenges she faces in her line of work, acknowledging that her commentary has led to the loss of friendships.
One such instance occurred when she began discussing the lifestyle and livelihoods of "slay queens," a term often used to describe social media influencers known for flaunting luxury lifestyles.
Mona revealed that Moesha took offence to her criticism of the slay queen culture and launched an attack on her.
Consequently, their friendship deteriorated, ultimately ending their differing perspectives on the matter.
Reflecting on Moesha's recent health challenges, Mona disclosed that she refrained from extending assistance when she heard about Moesha's illness.
“This job we do as presenters has its merits and demerits. I have had my own share of challenges which includes losing friends.
“For instance, when I started talking about slay queens and the kinds of jobs they do survive, my close friend Moesha didn’t like it and attacked me. Our friendship ended because of that. So when I heard she was sick and was appealing for funds, I didn’t do anything about it because we are no longer friends,” she stated.
Earlier this year, Moesha Buduong's brother disclosed that she had been hospitalised and was in critical condition following an incident where she reportedly fell in a club and sustained a head injury, resulting in a coma.
However, there has been no update on Moesha's current condition since then.
