Efiekuma Bob Marley is my new name; it was given to me by a guy in Takororadi — Kofi Kinaata

Highlife sensation Kofi Kinaata has added a quirky new name to his repertoire, unveiling himself as "Efiekuma Bob Marley" during his appearance on Citi TV’s entertainment show “The Chat.”

The revelation came as Kinaata, who is currently promoting his upcoming EP “Kofi OO Kofi” and the single “Efiekuma Broken Heart,” joined host Ekow Koomson for an engaging discussion on the Saturday episode.

Despite enjoying a successful decade-long career in music, which includes clinching the prestigious Songwriter of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards three times, Kofi Kinaata is yet to release a full-length album or EP.

Originally slated for release on April 15, 2024, the “Kofi OO Kofi” EP has been rescheduled for a release date in early May, either on the 3rd or 10th.

During his appearance on "The Chat," the “Susuka” hitmaker humorously shared his new nickname, “Efiekuma Bob Marley,” revealing that it was bestowed upon him by an individual from Takoradi.

Kinaata, who hails from Efiekuma in the Western Region, explained the essence of the name, stating, “Efiekuma is where I grew up…and that is where my music journey began… And they love me too.. so I can’t stop loving them”.
