The Online Sports Journalists Union (OSJU) has sent a success message to the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in his bid to be elected to serve on the FIFA Executive Body.

Sammy Heywood Okine, Executive Secretary / Director of OSJU in the message said they believe in the Ghana FA President as an achiever and a man of integrity who will serve the continent well as a representative on FIFA.

According to OSJU, Kwesi Nyantekyi has done much for Ghana Football and can do better if he is encouraged and supported by the media and Football Public.

“Your achievements of taking Ghana to the last three FIFA World Cups, winning the Under 20 World Cup, getting into the last four of the last six AFCONs (Ghana placed second at the last edition, only to be beaten by Cote d’voire on penalties), upgrading and lifting the standard of Women’s Football as well as putting in place the new Under 15 Boys National League in Ghana are worth mentioning” OSJU said.

The Union also praised the President’s club, Wa All Stars for winning the current 2015/16 Ghana Premier League in which they beat the top clubs like former African champions, Accra Hearts of Oak home and away.

Kwesi Nyantekyi who is also President of WAFU has been tipped to win one of the two slots for the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

No Ghanaian has occupied that high position on FIFA, and winning the seat will be highly beneficial for Ghana and the English speaking countries in Africa.
