Former national female football team, Black Queens goalkeeper Abiba Memunatu Suleimana is still making impressive saves.

Memunatu Suleimana was in goal for Fabulous Ladies who lost 2-1 to the Ghana Police Female Soccer team.

Her performance was so impressive that anybody sitting far and cannot see her face would wonder why Ghana has goal keeping problems.

She was gallant in the posts and deprived Police of banging in the goals, only to concede two. Her team mates were however far younger than her.

Though she was using her experience, the young girls of Fabulous Ladies could not cope with the pressure of the highly determined Police side.

After the match, Abiba displayed her disappointment as she wanted to set a record of winning the first Women’s FA Cup at the new Cape Coast Stadium.

She has served Fabulous Ladies for the last four seasons and wanted a trophy to prove her dedication after losing the League title to Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

The historic match between Ghana Police and Kumasi Fabulous Ladies was the last competitive match of the Ghana Football Association.

Founder of Fabulous Ladies described Memunatu Suleimana as very disciplined and devoted to the game, that is why she is still playing when most of her colleagues have retired many years ago.

She described the team who played Ghana Police as a reserve side as eight of the first team players had travelled outside the country.

Abib Attah who is known as one of the pioneers of Female Football in Ghana said Fabulous Ladies is rebuilding and very soon the new players will gain the confidence and strength for the big stage. She commended her players for playing at that stage for the first time.

Players like Alice Kusi, Agnes Aduakor, Florence Annor and Sandra Boakye showed much promise to give Ghana Female Football a bright future.

Memunatu Suleimana confirmed that the future is bright for Female Football. She commended the sponsors of the FA Cup and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for organizing the event successfully.

She expressed her readiness to play for the Black Queens if invited to camp because she is still active and has the confidence and experience which is mostly needed.
