Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed telecom outfit Globacom has settled the debt owed the GFA for the sponsorship of the Ghana Premier League.

According to the GFA boss, Glo still owes the nation’s football governing body monies from its sponsorship of the Black Stars which is still being battled in court.

Glo signed a five-year deal with the Ghana FA which expired in 2013. It is believed it still owes the Black Stars $2.2m, but not the league clubs.

“It is not true Glo has settled all monies owed the GFA. We are still in court because the Black Stars money has still not been paid but for the league all monies have been settled. Lawyer Tadius Sory is even involved in the arbitration case”, he told Starr Sports.

Meanwhile, some clubs involved in the sponsorship package have confirmed receiving their part of the paid debt.
