Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Sarfo scored the opening goal for Sirius in their 2-0 league win over Varbergs in the Swedish second-tier league on Saturday.

The former Akosombo Krystal Palace midfielder hit the opener for the hosts at the Studenternas IP on the 32nd minute mark before Dragan Kapcevic sealed the win, late into extra-time.

Sarfo, 21, was playing his 17th game of the season and the 1,66 m used the game to register his first goal of the season.

Midfielder Kim Skoglund overlapped out on the right wing and hit a flat cross straight at Kingsley Sarfo, who with his forehead very elegant and the Ghanaian knocked the ball into the far corner, beyond the reach of Varberg goalkeeper Joakim Wulff.

Meanwhile 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Boakye featured in the game for Varbergs who succumbed to defeat on the road.

While the goal was crucial for the young Ghana, it was Sirius who felt more comfort after his inspiration on-the-pitch fueled their quest to secure promotion to the top-flight.

Sirius have opened a 5-point leas at the top of the Superettan League table with 13 games left to go.
