Ghana and Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah will build a new AstroTurf Pitch for the inmates of James Camp Prison, the player has disclosed.

Kwadwo, 27, fraternized with the inmates on Ghana's Republic Day and has promised to support the development of sports in the prison with the construction of the new pitch.

The Juventus star played with the inmates in a game which the prisoners won on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation time.

Speaking after the game, Kwadwo assured the inmates of a better life after serving their sentences and encouraged them to strive in life to be better upon their release.

He donated jerseys, food items, toiletries and an undisclosed amount of cash to the prison.

'I am happy that you accepted me in here and I am impressed with the standard of play. I and my team have decided to donate an undisclosed amount of money to the prison,' Kwadwo said.

'We also promise that we will help in the construction of a new pitch for the prison so that it can help you to train well and be better in future.'

The event dubbed 'Metro Sports Project with Kwadwo Asamoah' was organized by TV giants.

Kwadwo Asamoah was supported by fellow Black Stars players including Jerry Akaminko and Richmond Boakye-Yiadom.
