Ten-man Liberty Professionals held Hearts of Oak to a 1-1 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on match day 17 of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

Liberty Professionals played their home game at the home grounds of Accra Hearts of Oak.

Cosmos Dauda sent the away side into the lead in the first half but Bernard Arthur pulled even for Liberty, four minutes after the break.

It was a ding dong affair in the opening minutes but Liberty Professionals tamed the Phobians with their high pressing strategy. The Dansoman based side were so good in keeping the ball on their feet as the away side most at times were left chasing shadows.

Liberty in the 14 minute nearly paid for loss concentration as Cosmos Dauda low drive hit the far post, moment later the home side's captain Samuel Sarfo's point blank header hit the cross bar.

The two goalkeepers were mostly on holiday due to the strong defensive display of the two teams, but the home side were the dominant side.

Hearts of Oak in the 35th minute scored the first goal through Cosmos Dauda, the build-up of the goal came from Mustapha Essuman who find Samudeen Ibrahim in the middle of the field, the latter also located the Dauda, the goal however scorer kept his composure, dribbled Samuel Sarfo and planted the ball with his weaker left foot at the blind side of Stephen Kwaku.

The goal gave the Phobians a lot of impetus as they created decent chances to double their lead but Duada wasted those opportunities. Latif Blessing who have been Liberty's star man in the ongoing campaign failed to come to the party as the first half ended.

Having poor display in the first half, Latif Salifu improved his performance in the second half and his brilliant low cross was neatly headed home by Bernard Arthur four minutes after the break. Liberty then took control of the game as the Phobians were forced to defend deep.

The pendulum swung into Hearts of Oak favour but Liberty defended in numbers to block the Phobians attacking threat.

Patrick Razak tasted the agility of Stephen Kwaku in the 60th minute with a beautiful strike but the shot stopper stood to the test. Latif Blessing with his impressive display kept Hearts of Oak defense under a lot of pressure.

Bernard Arthur in the 75 minute was sent off for receiving his second yellow card in the game. The Phobians then threw a lot of bodies upfront in search of their second goal.

The home side with one man down defended vigorously as the game ended 1-1.
