Eight persons died and several others were severely injured when they were run over by a tipper truck which tried to overtake another vehicle.
The incident occurred at Akyem Akyease in the Eastern region on Saturday while the victims were on their way to burry a dead relative.
The police who confirmed the incident said the injured are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals.
