New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Akuapem South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Osei Bonsu Amoah, has said it will be suicidal for Ghanaians if the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins this year's general election for another four-year term.

According to him, the Ghanaian economy has witnessed sharp decline over the last eight years under the Mills-Mahama administration, resulting in unbearable hardships in the country.

Osei Bonsu Amoah, popularly known as O. B. Amoah, explained that the consequence of such a moribund administration is the “hardship that we are all experiencing now and retaining NDC in power will be disastrous.”

Inaugurating the Presbyterian Women's College of Education Wing of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the NPP in Aburi on Thursday, the lawmaker said it is only the NPP that can save Ghanaians from the current economic hardships.

He urged members of TESCON to go out and campaign from “room to room”, “market to market” to bring the party's flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to power in 2017.

“We need every vote and we know with your involvement, there will be change in this country.

You have heard all the good things that the NPP is doing to bring Ghana back on track.

Yours is to go and spread the good news that change is coming in a very positive way,” he told the students.

The Akuapem South MP added: “After eight long years of suffering, messing us up, he (President Mahama) is now telling us that we should vote for him again.

We are saying that thank you NDC. It's time for us to bid them goodbye and let's save our country.”

He also entreated the students to campaign for NPP parliamentary candidates for the party to obtain majority seats in the legislature.

.
“Tell your friends who are not here that when they vote for Nana Akufo-Addo, they should also vote for the NPP parliamentary candidates.

No skirt and blouse voting in the elections. Nana Akufo-Addo needs majority of MPs in Parliament to help him run Ghana.

“If you vote for Nana and you don't vote for his parliamentary candidate and he brings good policies to Parliament, the NDC will block it.

They will vote against it and then all the work that you have done for Nana will be in vain,” he stressed.

O. B. Amoah slammed President John Dramani Mahama for reneging on his promise to put money in people's packets.

“When President John Mahama was campaigning in 2008, at every rally, he will ask the people – put your hands in your pockets and bring them out – did you find money in your pockets- then they will say no.

He said he will put money in our pockets, now he is telling us that we should wait for 2017,” he bemoaned.

Interacting with the students, MP for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, outlined the policies in the education sector that Nana Akufo-Addo will implement to better their lives if voted into power.

The NPP administration, he indicated, will reintroduce the Teacher-trainee allowances and study leave that have been cancelled by the Mahama administration.

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, MP for Ablekuma South, urged the students to kick President Mahama out of office by voting massively for Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 general election.
