Credible information reaching 3FM news indicates that the Electoral Commission will exhibit the voter’s register in June as planned despite the ‘controversial’ Supreme Court ruling.

There have been concerns that the Supreme Court ruling on the credibility of the voter’s register may impact on the election timetable.

Both the plaintiffs and respondents have claimed victory of the court ruling on May 5, but the former have threatened to go to court to enforce the ruling in their favour.

Whilst the Electoral Commission, a respondent, interprets the ruling as a cleaning of the register of foreign names, one of the plaintiffs, Abu Ramadan, claims the court ordered a deletion of foreign names including those who registered with the NHIS cards.

But a source at the Electoral Commission says there has not been any change, and the EC intends going ahead with the exhibition process as planned.
