The turbulence of the Ghana Football Association waded into a different gear on Friday when President Kwesi Nyantakyi announced the decision to boycott an Accra based radio station, Asempa FM.

According to the FA, the decision to boycott Asempa fm is borne out of the station's unwavering firmness to giving the FA an unfair reportage on issues pertaining to football in the country and also the continues maligning of its members on their airwaves.

President Kwesi Nyantekyi added that his outfit will lodge an official complaint about the conduct of Asempa fm with the National Media Commission (NMC) which has the power of checking and monitoring the activities of the media.

Speaking on Talk Sports (a TV 3 sports production programme) on Friday evening, Mr. Ibrahim Sannie Dara, Communication's Director of the GFA said, "We are aware that we are going through some challenges, but when a station decides to set an agenda to propagate falsehood and to spew utmost lairs against the association then we have to be concerned."

Mr. Sannie Dara also argued that one cannot blame the GFA for Alhaji Grunsah's decision to go to the law court to seek for a redress because it is his civil right to do so and it's also enshrined in the constitution.

Former Black Stars and Bayern Munchen central defender Samuel Osei Kuffour also had his fair share of the cake for passing a comment about the FA President last week where he branded Mr. Nyantekyi as 'lacking ideas' and also calling for his resignation.

"Samuel Osei Kuffour is someone that I personally respect for what he has achieved as a footballer and I know members of the FA give him the same respect, but to say that Mr. Nyantekyi lacks ideas to me, is unfortunate and I wish he could retract that statement," Mr. Sannie Dara added.

"It is not out of nothing that Mr. Nyantekyi was called to serve on the Executive Committee of CAF and also serve on the body of FIFA so the man has done a lot for football. You can disagree with him on issues, but not attack his personality," he added.
