Politics Changes At The Presidency: President Mahama Stopped In His Tracks!
AUG 25, 2014 LISTEN

On July 4th 2014, President John Dramani Mahama, under no compulsion, personally fired a letter to all his staff at the Flagstaff from the mighty to the minion, thanking them for services rendered and to brace themselves for "certain changes and/or re-assignments of portfolios in the Office of the President".

Many Ghanaians interpreted the message carried by the letter to mean that the President was going to ensure that all the Presidential Staffers who had been found to be incompetent or had been compromising their positions will be fired but that was not to be the case.

Almost two months after that 'Presidential Pink Letter” was delivered to the Staff, not a single official has been asked to even change from one desk to the other not to think of a total sack.

Credible information close to the Presidency has hinted Scandal that, President Mahama, Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces has been halted in his tracks basically because of sustained pressure and coercing from his matrimonial home and also some threats from some of the Staff whose names were on the chopping board.

Political heavyweights such as Senior Advisors, Dr. Nii Moi Thompson, Baba Kamara and Dr. SulleyGariba, Dr. Raymond Atuguba and former BBC presenter Ben DotseMalor were among those who received their letters.

Junior Staffers such as Stanislav XoeseDogbe, Clement Apaak, Michael Kpesah Whyte, and others were also to be shipped out.

According to the deep throat source, most of the senior Staff beseeched the support of the matrimonial home of the President to impress on him to rescind his decision.

“Knowing how powerful the matrimonial home is, the President was compelled to suspend implementing his well-thought out strategy”, the source said.

What is more surprising, according to the source was that, while the Senior Staffers and Advisors trooped to the Cantonments residence of the President to seek refuge, some of the Junior Staffers “virtually threatened to go to town if the President dared sacked them”.

“The younger ones, especially those with media background threatened to bring to the fore, some activities they had engaged in with the President and so he was compelled to rescind his decision”, the source added.

“As it stands now, it would be difficult for President Mahama to carry out the content of his own letter because his hands are tight ala matrimonial pressure and threats of exposure by a section of the staff”, concluded the source.

It would be recalled that days after the President issued out the letter to his Staff, he nominated Dr. EkwowSpioGarbrah as his Trade Minister, an action many thought was to throw dust in the eyes of the unsuspecting Ghanaian public.

Many are now arguing that President Mahama only succeeded in causing fear and panic at his own backyard.

More anon.
